Some people say that ESL learners pay too much attention to their grammar knowledge, so they are unable to speak English well. They think English grammar is not important for English speaking skill. In my opinion, it has something wrong, if we think English grammar is not necessary for speaking skill.
When we use English to communicate in speaking or writing, grammar is like the skeleton, and vocabulary is like the muscle, and the English language knowledge is like the whole body. We can not lack any of them. English grammar and the vocabulary together deliver the meaning of the English communication. If we want to improve our English skills, we do need all of these as the basic materials to build up the skills.
